Peer review policy

It consists of an external and anonymous double-blinded peer review.
The Editor in chief or associated editor, appoints one or two expert reviewers in the area of Radiology to which the article belongs. For example, if the article deals with pulmonary findings it will be reviewed by an expert in chest radiology.

Each reviewer evaluates not only the scientific quality but also the relevance and quality of the images. The review must be completed in a maximum of four weeks and must be submitted in a specific format supplied by the Journal with a definitive concept, which can be: "Approved", "Approved with corrections" or "Rejected".

The final publication decision corresponds to the Editorial Committee.
Additional evaluations are carried out when there is a discrepancy in the result of the first two reviewers or when it is necessary to review the relevant modifications or corrections requested from the authors by the evaluator.

The Journal informs the corresponding author the results of the evaluation. In case the article is "Approved with corrections", the authors have three weeks to make them and send them back to the Journal.

The Journal sends the approved material to the editing, layout, approval and printing process, which usually takes six weeks.
